Minnesota’s WNBA franchise is making its first championship series appearance in seven years following a 77-88 win over the Connecticut Sun. The No. 1-seeded New York Liberty will have home-court advantage for the first two games in the best-of-five contest.

This year, Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and the Liberty will do everything they can to right that wrong in their best-of-five WNBA Final matchup with Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride’s No. 2 Minnesota Lynx.

The WNBA Finals matchup is set. The Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty will face off in a Commissioner’s Cup rematch on Thursday, October 10, and it should be a movie. It all comes down to the league’s two top teams from the regular season, and that feels very fitting.
