Parts of the county are in for a dangerous battering while it is flooding that could cause problems in Gloucestershire

Matthew Lehnert, Met Office Chief Meteorologist, said: “Warm air arriving from the south will allow temperatures to rise above average despite it often being cloudy. On Wednesday, parts of southeast England could see 20 or 21C, with the mid to high teens expected across many parts of the UK.

The Met Office has warned winds of up to 80mph are set to batter the UK this weekend, with heavy rain warnings also in place.

The Met Office has issued two yellow weather alerts, warning parts of the country should brace for strong wind and rain.

Much of the country will have a windy end to the weekend, but temperatures over the coming days are expected to be warmer than average.

Severe rainfall has already wreaked havoc on parts of Britain - with the Met Office warning that storms may also pose additional hazards.

The forecast for downpours comes as much of the UK is expected to see above average temperatures over the next few days.

Heavy rain is expected to fall in many areas of Wales and some parts of England overnight and into Wednesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and warned some places could see 50-80mm (2-3in) of rain in six hours.
