Longtime “Days of Our Lives” actor Drake Hogestyn, who played John Black on the soap for nearly 40 years, died Saturday. He was 70. The cause was pancreatic cancer, his family said.

The medical examiner said pancreatic cancer was the immediate cause of death, TMZ reported. He also had several other health issues that contributed to but did not directly cause his death, including vomiting,
